Ministries

One shared life. Many ways to serve.

The church, the house, education, and creative work meet in everyday life. Some ministries have deep roots; others are still being prepared.

These are connected areas of the team’s life and service. The church, GGIS, Umsic Music, and the independently run preschool are distinct organizations, not departments owned by CMCT.

A ministry rooted in 1995

The church by the lake

Biserica de la Lacul Noua gathers in the house at Strada Paltinului 16B. Jun’s father began evangelizing Noua and founded the church in 1995, working with Romanian and international ministers. Thursday prayer nights and Sunday services are part of its shared life. Jun and Sunmin serve as elders alongside Pastor Mihai Livadaru.

Mihai Livadaru is now head pastor. Our prayer is for a church full of children, active in outreach, and open to the nations in prayer and worship. The longer-term plan includes registration as a non-denominational church when membership and finances allow.

Hospitality and community service

Casa Mea Casa Ta

CMCT welcomes people from other countries who want to serve vulnerable communities in Romania. It builds on Jun and Sunmin’s experience founding Mi Casa Tu Casa Community in California. Its purpose brings together mentoring and personal growth, intercultural belonging and volunteering, and practical help through education and humanitarian support.

CMCT’s NGO registration is complete. The 2026–2029 plan begins with hosting visiting teams and grows toward longer-term volunteers. Hosting is a relationship of mutual learning, cultural exchange, and service alongside local people.

Teaching and guidance counseling

Education at GGIS

Greater Grace International School in Brașov provides English-language education from kindergarten through high school. Its international community includes missionary families and children from many backgrounds. The school is about 15 minutes from the house.

Sunmin has begun serving at GGIS. Her first-year role combines teaching with helping establish high-school guidance counseling. The longer-term hope is to support students and teachers through counseling and growing administrative responsibility.

Creative work and discipleship since 2021

Umsic Music

Jun and his partner founded Umsic Music in 2021 to train and disciple a new generation of K-pop producers and topliners. Its name comes from the Korean word for movement. The vision is music that moves the heart of God and the world.

Umsic Music Community offers collaboration, feedback, song pitching, and masterclasses. Umsic Music Publishing represents producers, while Umsic Music Institute provides intensive courses. The plan is to develop these programs from Romania and host songwriting camps in Romania and Korea.

Hosted since May 2024

A preschool in the house

Centrul Educational Tara Viselor leases the second floor of the house. The founders’ April 2026 account describes about 30 children aged two to six and five teachers. Led by educator Luminita, this independently operated preschool brings children and families into the building every day.

The lease runs to May 2027, with a hope of renewal. Priorities include building care, security, and support for educational activities. The preschool is a tenant and neighbor, not a CMCT-run school.

An unfinished building and a prayerful vision

Lunca: a place for retreat

In 2020, Jun’s father acquired land in Lunca Mărcușului, Covasna County, about 30 minutes from Brașov. A small building grew into a three-story structure intended for family accommodation and church gatherings. Over time, the vision widened toward rest for missionaries, retreats, and prayer.

The interior remains unfinished, and the exterior needs care after weather damage. The plan begins with land maintenance and worship, seeks construction teams and local relationships, and works toward funding interior construction. This is not yet an operating retreat center.

Research and discernment

A neighborhood business

Noua’s lakeside, zoo, adventure park, and public spaces welcome families and visitors. The team is exploring a small café or takeaway restaurant in the building, with a warm place to meet, opportunities for workers to grow, and a way to support ministry over the long term.

No business is open yet. Research comes first, followed by kitchen construction and the necessary permits. The aim is a locally connected ministry that can serve future generations, supported by both generosity and sustainable work.

The 2026–2029 plan

A direction for the years ahead, drawn from the founders’ April 2026 plan. Registration, church leadership, and Sunmin’s school role have since moved forward. Future steps depend on people, resources, and local needs.

2026–2027

Build the foundation

With NGO registration complete, priorities include visiting teams, neighborhood outreach such as a table-tennis event, guidance counseling at GGIS, and developing Umsic’s programs from Romania. Building security, care for the Lunca land, construction-team connections, and business research support the next steps. The original plan aimed to welcome three teams in autumn 2026.

2027–2028

Deepen the shared work

Plans include church registration and a church website, continued team visits and one long-term volunteer, a songwriting camp in Romania, and renewal of the preschool lease in May 2027. At Lunca, the hope is to host a construction team and invite neighbors to an event. Kitchen construction and permits are proposed for the business.

2028–2029

Grow with local communities

The longer view includes outreach to Roma villages, more long-term volunteers, expanded educational support, and a songwriting camp in Korea. Lunca’s interior construction depends on fundraising; neighborhood gatherings and kitchen permits remain part of the plan. These are intentions, not guaranteed dates or completed projects.
